Cinema tickets reduced in Wotton-under-Edge as part of Great British Summer Savings

The Electric Picture House, the independent cinema for Wotton-under-Edge and the surrounding areas, is cutting its child ticket prices for the summer.

From Friday 26 June until Tuesday 1 September, film tickets for children under 12 will be reduced to just £4.50. Tickets for those aged 12 – 17 are reduced to £5.30.

The price cuts are part of the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings programme. The Government has slashed VAT on the costs of children’s restaurant meals, children’s tickets for theatres and cinemas and all tickets for attractions like soft play, amusement parks, and museums. As a result, the cinema is able to lower its prices and ultimately make summer days out more affordable for more families.

Gareth Negus, Managing Director the Electric Picture House, said, “While some chain cinemas charge a flat ticket rate for everyone, the fact that we already have cheaper tickets for children and young people means we can take advantage of the VAT cut and pass the savings on to our customers.”

Films already confirmed include Steven Spielberg’s latest, Disclosure Day (12A, from 26 June); Toy Story 5 (PG, from 17 July); Minions and Monsters (from 24 July); and the new version of Moana (PG, from 31 July), with more titles to be confirmed.
