See Blinded by the Light for free in Wotton-under-Edge, on National Lottery Cinema Day

National Lottery Cinema Day is back for 2019 to celebrate support for UK film and filmmakers and the Electric Picture House Cinema in Wotton-under-Edge is taking part: you can visit the cinema for free on Sunday 25 August when you show a Lotto ticket for the 24 August draw (purchased in store or online).

As this offer may be popular, advance booking is recommended. You can do that from Wednesday 21 August via www.cinemaday.co.uk and also on 25 August at the cinema (doors open at 7pm). On the day, the cinema is screening the new British release Blinded by the Light (12A). Set in 1987, during the austere days of Thatcher’s Britain, Blinded by the Light is a joyous, coming-of-age story about a teenager who learns to live life, understand his family and find his own voice through the words and music of Bruce Springsteen. Directed by Gurinder Chadha (Bend it Like Becham, Viceroy’s House) Blinded by the Light is inspired by British journalist Sarfraz Manzoor’s memoir “Greetings From Bury Park.”
